YMCA Edwardsville
Background
Holland Construction Services served as the construction manager on this 119,000 square-foot state-of-the-art sports complex. The new expanded YMCA ranks among the largest in the United States. It offers many amenities that are unique to the area, including a roller skating rink, gymnasium, five indoor tennis courts, gymnastics center, climbing wall, fitness center, locker rooms, meeting rooms, and an outdoor swimming pool.
The multiple construction methods used on the project were also unique for a YMCA. A combination of metal building, conventional structural steel, and load bearing masonry construction were all used to allow for superior functionality and competitive pricing.
Holland did exceptional work. The end product is something we are very proud of. This is not the traditional center. We decided to think outside the box and to open the envelope.
